Hārūn al-Rashīd did not die on the way to al-Kharasane. He died in Tus, a city in the Khurasan province (which is often referred to as "Khurasan" in historical contexts).
He was traveling to Khurasan to deal with a rebellion when he fell ill and passed away in 809 CE.
